The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) invites local agencies to join the second meeting of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinators Group. This group was formed to provide resources, guidance, and support to ADA coordinators in Illinois. Kicking off on July 10, 2025, the Coordinator Group Meetings help participants strengthen accessibility practices and ADA Title II compliance efforts.
Based on feedback received from participants in meeting 1, this second meeting will focus on the Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG). Participants will gain practical knowledge on how PROWAG applies to local agencies and how it intersects with ADA Title II responsibilities. The session will also provide tools, resources, and examples to help ADA coordinators identify PROWAG rules as they tackle self-evaluations and transition plan administrative requirements under Title II of the ADA or projects in the public right-of-way that affect their municipality/agency.
